Request of Information
On September 29, 2010 the National Communications Commission issued Resolution No. 4029/2010 by which it sets forth a 30-day term for telecommunication service operators to provide information regarding the provision of services.
The duty to inform falls on the local, long distance telephony service (national and international), internet access and mobile telephony providers.
Operators should inform: (i) area of service (town and province where the service is provided), (ii) interconnection conditions, including connected providers and capacity of said connection and (iii) commercial current plans offered to their customers.
Moreover, (i) internet and mobile phone service providers shall specify the technology used to render their services; (ii) long distance service providers (national and international) with their own infrastructure shall indicate which towns they connect to directly and the technology used to provide the service and (iii) service providers with optic fiber installation (used and not used) shall inform each of the POP's (point of presence) location, direction and coordinates and the current or future capacity to render connection and/or transportation services.
In case you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact Francisco Gutiérrez, Héctor Huici or Marina Avila Montequín.
