Announcement of requested frequency bands from 3,300 to 3,400 Ghz, 3,400 to 3,700 Ghz and 10,150 to 10,650 Ghz for developing Data Transmission and Value Added Services as well as High Density Services in different locations of Argentina. Set up of auction base price. 

By means of Resolution No. 250/2008 published in the Official Gazette on August 21, 2008, the Argentine Secretary of Communications announced the list of frequency bands that were requested for the purpose of developing Data Transmission and Value Added Services as well as High Density Services in several provinces of Argentina.

According to the procedure established by Resolution No. 235/2001 of the Argentine Secretary of Communications as amended, the bands shall be allocated through auction. Those parties interested on acquiring any listed frequency band may submit an application to the Assistance Service Center for Users of the Radioelectric Spectrum, at the Argentine Communications Commission’s Engineering Office, within 15 business days of the date of publication of Resolution No. 250/2008.

The Argentine Secretary of Communications also established a base price for each frequency band to be offered at auction. These base prices fluctuate between AR$ 1,837 and AR$ 4,592 in the AMBA (Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires); between AR$ 612.13 and AR$ 1,530.6 in the cities of Córdoba, Rosario and Mendoza; between AR$ 367.4 and AR$ 918.4 in cities of 200,000 up to 700,000 inhabitants; between AR$ 262.4 and AR$ 656 in cities of more than 100,000 and less than 200,000 inhabitants and between AR$ 183.7 and AR$ 459.2 in cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants.

Furthermore, the Argentine Secretary of Communications advised that those locations listed for auction may be included as part of the exploitation areas to be defined by said Secretary of Communications in due course.
