Biography
Néstor Belgrano is a partner of M. & M. Bomchil since 1985. He has experience in banking law, ship and aircraft financing, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, insurance and telecommunications and is in charge of the Financial Services and Capital Markets Department.
He represented banks in the acquisition of financial entities in the Argentine Republic. He also represented several companies in the public offering, both in the Argentine Republic and the United States, of shares and securities. He has assisted several telecommunication companies in the negotiation of syndicated loans and project financing to fund the construction of their telecommunication networks and advised public utilities and power generation companies regarding the funding of their projects (project finance and structural loans).
Mr. Belgrano has assisted several companies and lenders in financial planning, leasing, security interests, foreign exchange regulations, taxation, including the negotiation of loans and financial purchase-leases to fund the acquisitions of aircraft and vessels, and advised several clients on aircraft and vessels security interests’ registration.
He advises clients on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, transfer of technology and technical assistance, insurance, consumer credit, aeronautical law, shareholders agreements, leasing agreements and others.
Mr. Belgrano graduated from Universidad Católica Argentina in 1981, he took part in the International Banker Seminar organized by The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York in 1982 and worked for the International Department of Banco Galicia until March 1983.
He acts as director or statutory auditor of important companies such as Milkaut, Hutchinson Argentina, Endesa Argentina, CNP Argentina Compañía de Seguros and Previsol AFJP, among other companies.
Mr. Belgrano served as assistant professor of commercial law at Universidad Católica Argentina and in post graduate telecommunication law courses at Universidad de Buenos Aires and Universidad Argentina de la Empresa. He serves as professor of the post graduate course in M&A at Universidad Austral.
He is a member of Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal and Comité de Abogados de la Asociación de Bancos de la República Argentina. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association.
Mr. Belgrano wrote several works published by International Financial Law Review and the Argentine chapter of “A World Guide to Foreign Exchange Regulations" by Euromoney Publications and "Arrest, Registration, Mortgages and Enforced Sales of Vessels" published by Kluwer Law and Taxation.
