I. The National Environmental and Sustainable Development Secretariat has amended the procedure for the approval of insurance plans for environmental damages with a collective impact

On January 5, 2012, the National Official Gazette published Resolution No. 42/2011 of the National Environmental and Sustainable Development Secretariat. Said resolution sets forth the administrative procedure for the approval of insurance plans for environmental damages with a collective impact.

This resolution sets forth that prior to the granting of the approval, the Assessment of Environmental Risks Unit, the Environmental Regulation Office, the National Environmental Control Office and the Undersecretariat of Environmental Policy and Planning shall take part in the procedure.

II. The City of Buenos Aires has set forth an incentive regime for promoting the use of solar energy

On January 24, 2012, the Official Gazette of the City of Buenos Aires published Law No. 4024 that sets forth an incentive regime for promoting the use of systems that capture solar energy with the aim of producing electricity and heating.

The purpose of this law is to: (i) encourage the use of clean energy from renewable resources; (ii) reduce the emission of greenhouse gases; and (iii) reduce the use of energy from non renewable resources.

In order to apply for the incentive regime, the systems that capture solar energy shall provide an energy contribution that enables to save conventional energy. These benefits are applicable to properties destined for individual housing o buildings.

The Executive Branch shall submit to the Congress for its approval and within 90 days as from the enactment of the law, a proposal for tax reduction in relation to the conventional energy saving through the use of photovoltaic or thermal generation that use solar energy.

III. The City of Buenos Aires has approved a new record of request form

On January 4, 2012, the Official Gazette of the City of Buenos Aires published Regulation No. 2350/DGCONT/2011 that approves a new record of request form with the aim of adapting it to the provisions of Law 3956, which amends the procedure for special infractions.
